Dear, dear, Nephew!

Your posts and your photos are tres interesting and amusing! Thank you for including a link to your Facebook album. We're all looking forward to your next communications. Questions: Philip's house looks new and stylish despite the plumbing; is it typical for the neighborhood and for Amman? What happened to the previous gate? It looks as if it had a somewhat forceful removal. Those "crabapple" trees resemble no North American apple tree (genus Malus); can you find someone who can tell you what genus they are? I'm interested. Perhaps they're called "crabapples" because they're somewhat sour? What do they taste like? Are you finding the other food tasty? Where do you sleep? Are you looking for other quarters yet? Where will you look? What kind of things are available? If the funding for your project has yet to materialize, how much else is still in abeyance? How's your Arabic coming along? I could ask a lot more, but I don't want to overdo it. I'll save some for next time. You're looking great, if a bit sunburned. Love you!
