In which Zach and his choir, Dozan wa Awtar, hold the extremely popular Easter Concert, and Zach gets to pretend he’s a goofy theatre major again in front of 3 dozen small children.
It’s been a couple weeks since I had the time to write a new entry. We’ve been quite busy on this side of the ocean, what with preparing for and meeting with the regional representative from the U.S. Department of State, then another 60 kilometer bike ride over the weekend, in training for the upcoming Dead to Red relay, and then finally this past Sunday, a visit to a church in Ashrafieh, a traditional East Orthodox service that worships half in Arabic and half in old Aramaic.
In which Zach describes the changes that have been made around the Ayn Al Basha complex since the beginning of the Second Session, and the differences between his previous students and his new ones. He also describes his favorite argeillah bar in as much detail as possible.
In which Zach’s first group of Iraqi students from his computer hardware repair and training course become his first group of Iraqi graduates. Much merrymaking ensues, and Zach doesn’t even get dropped on his head by exuberant dancing men!
In which Zach’s months of assisting with the production of “Fiddler on the Roof” comes to a wonderfully well-presented conclusion in two well-attended performances.
In which Zach celebrates Christmas season by joining Jordan’s largest Christian choral group in song in their annual Holiday Concert.
