It took me several weeks to get the videos from my father and uncle, but at long last, here’s the video results of the Polar Plunge 2008 from February 16th. As a new twist on things, I’m using a new video program called “Silverlight” being pushed by Microsoft, same way that years ago, Adobe needed to push “Flash” on everyone (or at that time it was Macromedia, not Adobe, but I digress). Anyway, I highly encourage everyone to watch the video by clicking the “Silverlight” button below and giving it a download and watch there, because the quality is far better than anything Youtube can handle. For comparison though, if you’re curious, here’s a link back to the Youtube version of the same video. If you’d like to see photos from the event, the publicly-viewable photo album on Facebook can be found here.

As my mother mentions in the video, the Arctic Avengers made $653 for the Special Olympics; not bad at all for a team of four people! Thank you again to all our donors!

(Click the link below to view the video, which is too large to fit in the normal screen of the blog!)

Update Feb 2010: Apparently Microsoft has canned their burgeoning Silverlight Hosting service that I was so eager to try out for you all; thanks for the warning email, Microsoft! I don’t even know how long it was just showing a broken 404 link there for you all. I’ve replaced the Silverlight junk with the Youtube version that I had originally linked to above.
