It’s been a couple weeks since I had the time to write a new entry. We’ve been quite busy on this side of the ocean, what with preparing for and meeting with the regional representative from the U.S. Department of State, then another 60 kilometer bike ride over the weekend, in training for the upcoming Dead to Red relay, and then finally this past Sunday, a visit to a church in Ashrafieh, a traditional East Orthodox service that worships half in Arabic and half in old Aramaic.
In which Zach describes the changes that have been made around the Ayn Al Basha complex since the beginning of the Second Session, and the differences between his previous students and his new ones. He also describes his favorite argeillah bar in as much detail as possible.
In which Zach takes a bike trip through banana farms and along the Dead Sea in his first preparation for the Dead-to-Red biking relay next month in March.
In which Zach visits the Dead Sea for the first time with his choir group, Dozan wa Awtar, for a weekend of singing practice, swimming, and natural mud packs.
In which Zach’s first group of Iraqi students from his computer hardware repair and training course become his first group of Iraqi graduates. Much merrymaking ensues, and Zach doesn’t even get dropped on his head by exuberant dancing men!
